Thomas Stratmann

A distinguished micro economist, Thomas Stratmann holds an appointment as Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics at George Mason University, a courtesy appointment at Antonin Scalia Law School and has recently been appointed as a Commissioner for the Growth Commission.

As a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center in the United States, he has produced a wide ranging body of work focused on marco economics, fiscal policy, political economy and experimental economics.

He also holds a  BA from the Free University of Berlin and his MA and PhD in economics from the University of Maryland and has published in journals such as the American Economic Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Law and Economics, and the Review of Economics and Statistics.
