The event in the Japanese capital was held in association with The Japan Forum on International Relations and Worldwide Support for Development and was timed to coincide with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi marking the first anniversary of her coming to office. The conference – themed “Japan Is Back” – considered a variety of issues relating to Japan’s economy, including:
- How to balance Growth and Economic Security
- Effective Fiscal Policy and Dealing with Debt
- Geoeconomics and the Rise of Minilateral Diplomacy
- Strategies for Advanced Economies in the Age of Economic Security
Speaking from The Growth Commission’s International Advisory Board were the former British and Czech Prime Ministers, Liz Truss and Petr Nečas, alongside former Polish President, Andrzej Duda; while Growth Commission Chairman Shanker Singham was joined on the bill by fellow Commissioners Douglas McWilliams, Mieko Nakabayashi and James Carter.
