James Carter is a senior fellow with the America First Policy Institute. Following a two-year stint in the White House as an Associate Director of the National Economic Council, he served as a Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and Deputy Undersecretary of Labor for President George W. Bush. Previously, he was an economist with the U.S. Congress’ Joint Economic Committee, developing policies to enhance economic growth and prosperity.
